Genie Yesterday I noticed a local shop painted in Paris rouge, which I had never noticed before. Now I'll be looking out for it.
Diane Agree! Do you have them in the Charente as well?
Murissa Yes, it makes a striking color contrast, doesn't it?
Field of Gold I remember the orange poppies in California, but had never seen red poppy fields until we came to France. Maybe you'll have poppies next year?
Mlle Paradis I agree! I love the word coquelicot. Mouth candy!
Coquelicots were one of the things I loved most about my trip to the south of France. This picture is beautiful; sends me dreaming about that gorgeous place. Wish I could go back!
Dyche Designs Aren't they such a beautiful shade of red?
Nancy Nice to meet you too! I've been an avid photographer for years and am just now getting involved in all the photography challenges I see on blogs. They are inspiring!
Grace I hope you get the chance to come back! Spring is a gorgeous time of year here, but autumn is even more beautiful. (in my humble opinion) :)
Buttons It's the village just a mile down the road. I had gone out to buy wine at the local winemakers co-op and saw the splash of red. Of course I pulled over and got out my camera!

The "rouge" splashed about the the awnings, doors, and accents of Paris pale in comparison to the scarlet found in your fields. I wish I was there!
Bises,

Love how the red pops against the vibrant green.
Great photo!

Vast expense and not a little work. And still my field has no poppies. And I have seen all across France and Italy wide fields of red poppies. Mmmmh.
only thing nicer than a poppy than the french word for it!

We love the coquelicots that pop up all over the South of France at this time of year. Thanks for the picture.

Beautiful, I love the red in the field!
Oh my gosh, what a dream. Poppies are slowing inching into the favorite flower spot.

Thanks! Me too.
You are my Fave
The enormous fields of red poppies here are stunning.
Though peonies, white lilies and lilacs are still my favorite.

Thank you Tricia!
I was just thinking of changing it though...to a poppy one for the month of May. :)
