French windows, shutters and doors are pretty much irresistible if you ask me.
They can be freshly painted in vivid colors or primitive and falling apart. They can be quiet and understated or even staring back at me.
I love them all.
What beautiful photos. My husband and I fell in love with the doors and door knockers in Italy. I have so many photos I feel I could turn them into a book!

Salut! No arguments from me. I feel quite the same about French doors and shutters. (Sigh!) All beautiful pics and the one with the "eyes"! You don't see doors like that everyday.
Thanks for your note over at Passage Paradis, yeah I posted that half asleep. It is Chartres. And I meant that I would be happy to run away to there instead.
I'm sure it's not any consolation but I have understood from some ex-fonctionnaires that they found their jobs quite as soul-destroying. Sad isn't it?
You need to make of poster of these and a few more. I had a friend who gave me a poster he made called The Shutters of Arles". It's hanging in my office and I love it!

So much more interesting than Parisian doors! These look like the bearers of secretive passages and mysterious characters!
Those blue doors are speaking to me. I'm sad we live in a rental, because now I want to paint my door.
I would pick #2, 4, 6 in different color, 7, 8 with some minor repair work or #10... They are all quite interesting in their own way...
