A New Year

2 janvier 2011

It has been quite a year!

Though I could probably say that about every year.
Living in France always keeps life interesting and it continues to amaze me that even after almost 8 years here, we still have so much to learn. (like how damn difficult it is to rent an apartment in Paris!)

We celebrated the arrival of 2011 with good friends, the requisite glass of Champagne, a leisurely dinner and a decadent chocolate and raspberry cake.  A wonderful ending and an even better beginning.

Bonne Année! Pin It

Only one glass? Right...

Yes, only one glass of Champagne...
(there were other glasses of other things before the Champagne however) :)

Pink clouds seem to hint at more than one glass (although they are not quite elephants).

You are so right, France is so interesting. I love my summer months there, it is much more interesting than where we are in the UK. Just wish I could improve my French though!! Diane

Happy New Year!!!!! On sait jamais! Sorry the Paris situation did not work out. Must have been so disappointing. Big cities can be very unwelcoming in some very unexpected ways. Still, you have learned something from the experience I'm sure and next time the opportunity presents itself.....????? On sait jamais!

Meanwhile very best wishes for 2011. You are still in la belle France!

well, it was New Year's Eve after all!

Speaking French does make it much easier if you're living in France. Do you study?

You never know, you're right!
The whole Paris thing was a learning experience and I'm glad I went to figure some things out.
Happy new year and all the best to you in 2011!
