Jen, I just cooked this slice last night and it is DELICIOUSLY dense and chestnut like. yum must keep the seeds for next year's garden.

I didn't get to taste it as it was cooked after I had to return home from Gascony, but as Kate says below, it was delicious.
I'm keeping an eye out for it down here and will hopefully find some.

I hadn't either. The market vendor had several varieties that I had never seen before.

Maybe it's an old variety that is making a comeback? I'm going to try to find it at the markets here in the Languedoc.
