This Morning in Béziers

Our visit to the sous-préfecture this morning went very well...

They did want to see us for the 10 year cartes de séjours.
The interview included questions to find out if we've integrated into our community and how well we speak French. It was all surprisingly simple and the man behind the desk was really nice and had a good sense of humor.
Don't know what happened to the cranky women who used to work there.

Another step in the right direction.
What a relief!

Did you have to wait for a long time? Were the papers for the 10-year carte the same as for the citizenship application?

I am glad to hear that. Hope all goes well. BTW, at one time, you were putting your house for sale. Did I miss anything?

Yes! Yahoo!

That is one thing that amazes me here. One person will tell you the exact opposite of another person working in the same place. You really have to work to find the one who will help. It is so annoying.

Ken
This was our 6th carte de séjour renewal and we didn't ask for a 10 year card, they just sent us a request for an interview without any other information. We didn't really know why we had to go there today, but were hoping it was for the 10 year.
The papers for citizenship were totally different than for the cds. Citizenship paperwork is MUCH more involved.

Anne
It is! :)

Thanks!
Our house is still for sale. We are staying in France, just looking for another house.

Aha.... I was just wondering if there's been any progress et voila! Don't suppose there's been any developments on the citizenship or even when the next step may be? As you know - we're most interested to help if we can :)

Yes, they've accepted my Citizenship application! Great news!!!
Now I wait. And wait.

Yes, but you wait, with a nice degree of security - inside France. Woot! well done! I have my 10 year card and in three more years I take the language and history exam for citizenship. People tell me it's very hard. So, Ma pean oppida veel Eesti keel palju.

Martha
Very true.
Good luck to you! I don't think I have to take a test. At least I don't think I do!
