Photo du Jour - Champagne in the Sun

Champagne poured over a splash of Pomegranate Liqueur is a delicious aperitif.

And it's even better when enjoyed on your friend's sunny terrace where the temperature reaches 75 degrees, even on a cold November day. Pin It

Oh, yum. I love champagne, but have it so rarely because it's so pricey. There are very good sparkling wines here in the Touraine, and they're much more economical. It's not the same as champagne, though.

But once in a while it's great to splurge.

wait - 75 degrees....is that a terrace that's exposed or is that a terrace that's the "inside" terrace, surrounded by windows....and if it's outside I need to move down by you!

We usually go for Blanquette de Limoux or Saumur, especially if it is being mixed with something. Our friends provided the Champagne yesterday. We couldn't be rude and say decline a glass.

It was on an outdoor, south facing terrace just north of Béziers. No wind yesterday and bright sun, so their terrace was super warm!
We drove through the Lot on Saturday and hit a huge snowstorm! Brrrr.....

Warmth and Champagne...just what we all need. :-)

That's sadistic.

On the other hand, I have started trying to calculate whether I can realise my dream of renting a cottage in Sete and have been wondering what the weather in late November might be like. Your photo is encouraging.

What a lovely day and champagne to boot! I spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Oregon coast where it was sunny and 65 degrees. Go figure.

I am jealous.

75 degrees, ah Lou Lou, dont remind me of what I am missing from my former home region!
Cider and central heating here though sadly not even cider on Sunday though Trois Blaison Cremante de Limoux Friday night did the trick.

Exactly! It was a nice treat.

It was a cold day, but we were in a warm spot on their terrace. Today has been a bit colder.
I don't want you to think it is always warm here in November! :)

Our Juicy Life
Ok, we look forward to seeing you soon!

Cathy
Wow, that is warm for this time of year. You were lucky! I hope you had a great time.

It can be warm here until January/February when it (usually) becomes really cold! We've eaten outside in the sun in mid-December.

It was a perfect spot but our house was cold when we got home as we had turned the heat down. I would LOVE to be in central heating! Why no cider on Sunday???
D will have to bring you some Trois Blasons when he heads back up there. xx
