Paris and Paris and Paris

Paris

Yes, we still live in Normandy.

But if you have been following me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram over the last couple of months you might be thinking that we had pulled up stakes (again) and moved to la Ville Lumière.

Mais non.

It takes a little over two hours to get to Paris from Bayeux. And the invites just keep coming - to celebrate this or that with friends, to house sit, to attend some sort of event.
So I keep hopping on the train.

Don't get me wrong, I love Normandy. The fresh sea air, the beautiful green pastures, the butter, the cheese, the people. The cows!
But Paris...it's where most of my friends are and it has really become my home away from home.
And it's only 2 hours away.

It's hard not to go. As often as possible.

I would be doing exactly the same as you , if I had all those opportunities to go to Paris. Fab that you can go and celebrate or just see friends.

I for one am happy you are only 2 hours away from Paris because it means I get to live vicariously through your photos :)

Thanks for update! I had been wondering about that very possibility. Loved Bayeux on my one visit and sent all those who visited us in Paris who were willing to go out to Normandy directly there.

My first thought, reading this post, was envy, quite honestly. Ah, to live two hours away from Paris.
But then I thought that I've wanted to go to Bayeux for decades, yet never made the trip despite being in Paris every year for the past nine. So you've affected my next itinerary, and I thank you! ;-)

I'm jealous.... We're almost a day away. Of course, that means we need to spend several days when we do go LOL

If I were you, I'd do the same.
Love these pictures, dreaming of Paris not only inspires, it infuses my life. I can't agree more with Mardi's comment: -)

I'm 6 hours away and need a ride on 2 TGVs to get there, which is a kind of discouraging any short-term weekend trips, but I resolved to make at least 2 trips to Paris with the family in
2014: -)

All the best!

So happy to have discovered your blog! I'm living in Paris for two months and am looking for some weekend getaways. Would you suggest Normandy for a wine/food weekend away? Merci!

It is! I've met so many wonderful people there, so it's great that I can go even for the day to see them.

I hope I'm keeping your Paris cravings satisfied for the moment! Looking forward to seeing you again this summer.

I know...I've been there so much lately it almost seems like I live there. (I wish!)
Bayeux is so charming, isn't it?

You've chosen a beautiful region of France to spend time in, so getting to Paris every so often is just icing on the cake. :)

I absolutely would suggest Normandy for a cider/food/Calvados weekend away! Not sure when you're coming, but there might be some tours starting up this spring. Keep in touch and I'll let you know what I know.

Sorry you weren't able to come to the reading. I'm sure our paths will cross one of these days!
