The two apple trees in our garden are heavy with ripening fruit. Who wants to come help us with the harvest?

I wish I could be there to help you!
Can you cook with these apples or are they reserved to make "Calvados"?

Ours are rubbish this year! Have a good week. Diane

So lovely to see genuine apples, instead of the perfected plastic grocery-store variety. I'd be happy to help with the harvest. Let me see, my magic transporter is around here somewhere . . .

It is apple time in northern Michigan, too. I picked apples for a month one year, but my hands won't take it for hours at a time any more.

How wonderful. The apples you buy in the stores have been in cold storage for months and have no flavor. Oh, to have a fresh apple.

The apple harvest is about to take off here too in the Okanagan. The farmers' markets become bombarded with people purchasing all kinds of locally grown apples by the box before the end of the season.

Great! I'll have a cold glass of rosé to offer when you arrive. :)

Sorry you can't make it! I cooked the few we had last year and they were delicious.

Diane
Sorry to hear that.
Bon week-end.

Emm
So true... and the flavor is so much better. Did you find your transporter yet? :)

That's a long time to pick apples! I'm sure you can buy some delicious varieties right now.

Ms Lemon
There is a significant flavor difference, that's for sure!

So, how many boxes have you bought?

P & O Ferries have just sent me a special offer - I'm on my way! I'll bring some fresh picked blackberries for the perfect autumn pie.
