I love when you can see the remnants of a building's past. My favorite fading sign is on the Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence, where you can still spot the fading sign from the hat store of Cezanne's father. Le témoin :)
Ann I've always wanted to visit Aix...have heard it is beautiful! We used to see lots of faded signs (ads) on the side of old barns in the vineyards. Love those too!
