Photo du Jour - Pastoral

pasture

It used to be that when I walked out our front door and turned right, I was on a road that wound its way through the vineyards. Now when I walk out our front door and turn right, I am on a road that winds its way past small farms and soft green pastures.

My camera and I have a whole new world to discover together.

Ah, the beautiful Normandy countryside. This brings back many happy memories of weekends spent there with friends or family while we lived in Paris... Can't wait to see more of your photos. A bientôt, Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Such an exquisite landscape, ancient, alive, fecund, verdant, moist, anticipating. You have formed a good partnership with your camera. Your images are evocative and provocative. As your fans all agree, we await more of the images you capture and share. Merci pour les images!

What a lovely photo du jour, I very much like getting an insight of France, here at my desk.

That's lovely. You very much make me want to live in the country (instead of the 'burbs). And look how green that grass is, even in February.

apart from your mention of vineyards, that view looks very similar to just outside my dad's house in the Cheshire countryside of England's north-west. The hedgerows and lush pastures just invite a walk on a cool late winter morning when your pant legs get damp with the heavy dew and the snow drops are poking out from under the hedges. lovely shot.

What a lovely scene. I've only seen the Norman countryside from the EuroStar (and you have to look really fast), but this makes me think of parts of England.

It is incredibly beautiful countryside. We drove up toward Cherbourg yesterday and explored a bit along the coast. It was gorgeous!

Sharon
I don't think the green ever goes away with the amount of rain this region gets. It reminds me a lot of western Washington.

You're very welcome!

Virtual travel is wonderful, isn't it? :)

We're right on the edge of a small town, so we have the best of both worlds. 5 minutes to restaurants, weekly markets, doctors, the bank, etc, yet peace and quiet.

Mary
Thanks!
We're slowly exploring the region and I always have my camera with me!

We're very close to England, so the similarity doesn't surprise me. And I can see why Wellies are so popular! :)

Emm
You should definitely come and visit this area. It has so much to see!
