Photo du Jour - Stumbling Upon History

The remnants of La Chapelle de Saint Salvy sit quietly in a small thicket at the edge of the village.
A friend told me about this special place the other day so I went wandering until I finally stumbled across another amazing bit of local history.
Dated between the 8th and 12th centuries. Pin It

Errors in editing made me delete my comment, I'm so sorry. I meant to say I would love to stand on that historic ground. Wonderful photo.

Why does it remind of the oppidum d'Enserune? Different place but similar in a way.

Thank you! There are so many amazing sites like this scattered around the area.
My friends told me that they came across a Visigoth cemetery on a walk the other day. So incredible!

The Oppidum isn't very far from us and the stones are the same color.
Next time you're in the area you'll have to come check this place out. :)
