Carrots, squash, leeks, turnips, broccoli, cabbage, pumpkins, black radishes, Swiss chard, spinach - just a sample of the tempting winter vegetables at the market.
I can't resist them.

LULU - we just finished a cheese we bought at WHole foods from the Alsace since we are going there in May for a while - surprised to see cheeses from there - any way it was in a little wooden box labeled "gres des vosges" affinage traditionnel en alsace" - it was pretty strong but catching flavor - creamy texture - pasteurized cows milk!!
ever had it?? dale
Wow, that's quite a bounty! So inspiring to see so much beautiful fresh produce, makes me want to find recipes for it all right now!
It's what I call blog convergence.

Haven't come across Grès de Vosges yet but a fellow cheese lover submitted her tasting notes to last December's Fête du Fromage.

Sounds like a good one!

I used to think all the summer vegetables were better than what was available in the late autumn/early winter. Not true!
