Bleu de Gex, also called Bleu du Haut-Jura or Bleu de Septmoncel, is one of the few unpasteurized cow's milk, blue cheeses still being produced in France.

Oh yummy yummy. It reminds me of the summer I went to school in Besancon and we had a day excursion into the near-by parts of the Jura Mountains. I hate cheese every day of that month it was so wonderful.
Did I tell you I love your cheese platter banner? Where was that taken?
Daughter and I are not getting away midweek as various work and other obligations have come up, plus the weather looks crummy. But I have found a nice hotel in Mèze, and if the weather looks halfway decent next weekend, we'll probably be taking off there. If not, we'll go the first available sunny weekend, vacances scolaire or not! Daughter can always take her homework with her. I feel like lolling and looking at water.
martha Bleu de Gex is wonderful! I don't know that area of France but it must be beautiful.
Sandy If you've never tried this one, you definitely should!
danielle You're welcome. :)
Betty It was taken in a resto in Narbonne. I love the black cart! And the cheese, of course. I hope you two do go to Mèze. I have fond memories of the little port there and there is an excellent resto in Marseillan, which I don't think is too far away, called Chez Philippe. Have a good week! Is your snow gone yet?
It is pretty much gone around here, but it snowed on the south side of Rodez (toward Albi) yesterday, a horrible ice/snow/rain affair that caused a fatal accident on the N88. I think more is predicted this week. Sigh...
