The village church doors. I love the little angel's face above the doorway. Pin It

Bonjour!

I just stumbled on your blog looking for a recipe for tarte tatin - something I have been wanting to try for a LONG time. Yours looks great - merci!

Sounds like we have similar areas of interest *ahem* wine, wine, more wine and of course cheese...except that I'm up here in Burgundy.

I've got a blog too about my life here in France with four vacation rentals, three daughters, and one very french husband.

I have now bookmarked your blog and will surely be a frequent visitor! We're planning on making a trip down to your neck of the woods soon.

A Bientôt!

I have often been curious why the face of a cherub rests above a door. Any history on that?

Bonjour Laura!
I enjoyed reading some of your blog yesterday and love the "Frenchitude lessons." I've bookmarked you also.
Hope you make and enjoy the Tarte Tatin. I cooked up another one last Sunday and it was so delicious!
Where are you visiting in the Languedoc?

anne
I was in a village the other day with some gorgeous doors and when I pulled out my camera to capture some of them, the batteries were dead! I'll have to go back...
How soon is your holiday?

I spent a few minutes searching on the Internet but couldn't come up with any reason.
I would imagine it might be for protection.

where are you going for your holiday?
We found and booked the gite. Can't wait to go back up there and taste some Pineau des Charentes, Cognac and goat's cheese.

Just saw this post, Loulou.

I love these doors. There are something about doors in Europe....
