Very tasty..but I prefer them cooked in white wine, with some very finely chopped leeks and finely chopped carrots with garlic..my friend sally did them for me ..delicious.

That is also my favorite way with mussels. Just make sure there's plenty of bread to soak up the sauce!

they are! They do the same thing with oysters at the restaurants down on the Étang de Thau.

Have you ever made them? I make Moules Marinières, but have never tried the gratinéed version.

These look fabulous! My favorite mussels preparation is still the classic one with a lot of garlic /shallots and a touch of cream--but I found an interesting recipe in Seattle (in a tiny restaurant right in Pike Place market) that uses BACON. Recipe is on my blog.
