Photos du Jour

The grapes are so gorgeous...

and ripe
and lush!

It won't be long before they're picked, then the leaves turn beautiful red, orange and gold colors. Pin It

When you said lush, I thought you were calling me...

And you were so quick to respond!
:)

I love the photos of the vines and grapes you two have been taking!
Are you done stacking wood yet? Do you really go through that much wood every winter?

There is something so impossibly magnetic about ripe grapes on the vine. I always think it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, and I never get tired of looking at them! When the grapes arrive at our market in abundance (probably not too long now), the smell in the air is thick and overwhelmingly punchy. Absolute heaven.

The wood is stacked, except for just a small amount of bois blanc that I have yet to cut, but it's nearly done. Last year was so mild that we only burned 2 stères. I don't expect to use all the wood this season, unless it's exceptionally cold.

I know. I can't stop taking pictures of them!
We have some table grape vines growing in our garden that produce the most amazing, sweet purple and green grapes.

we don't have a fireplace, just rely on electric heating which is great until we lose power...then we long to have a wood stove or fireplace!

Loulou, sounds like heaven there. Those grapes must taste incredible straight from the garden.

This time of year is heavenly, the weather is a bit cooler, the light changes and the leaves begin to turn color. It is truly beautiful!
