No Regrets

Pourquoi Pas?

Some events of late have started me thinking...about the decisions we make in life. And about sometimes regretting those decisions.

Olonzac France 002

Regrets.
I don't believe in them.

I believe that the decisions we make in life are always the right ones at the time that we make them. Circumstances may change and things may go completely haywire later on, but we always grow and learn from our experiences.

And we always have the chance to change things. Even if it might not seem like it at the time.

I also believe that sometimes we make decisions blindly, taking huge leaps of faith (for lack of a better word), without really knowing why.
Because eventually we land in the right place, the place where we wanted to be all along. Even if it takes a bit of stumbling, or possibly a few steps backward before moving forward, along the way.

No point looking back. No regrets.
Ultimately, we get there.

Regrets are pointless. who can tell how other alternative realities might have turned out?

Well put. Life isn't like "Sliding Doors" (the Gwyneth Paltrow film). Mind you, in a parallel universe we're probably not viewing this post!

Onward to attracting what we want in our future.

Totally my philosophy, too.

Love the sign in the first picture--Pourquoi pas? Because really, when we stop and think about it, why not? If you live in the moment, you won't have regrets.

If only we could see ourselves from an alternate universe...

There was that Edith Piaf one...you may have heard of it. :)

A good, positive philosophy to have, I've found.

Isn't that a great sign? I think I took that photo in Mougins, in Provence.

Murissa
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!

Sharon
You're welcome. (sometimes I need to remind myself as well)

I tend to live w/regrets when something just doesn't seem to be working out. Thank you for your short & sweet philosophy...I will do my best to look ahead, knowing the decisions I've made were from the heart. Sometimes all we need is that extra push to get us on the right track!

Edith Piaf said it too, although she sang it. Spacedlaw said it was pointless to have regrets and I agree. But sometimes they come upon you and all the philosphy in the world won't make them go away. C'est la vie.

I agree with you 100% - you can't change what happened in the past, you can only learn from it and move forward. And I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason - what may seem horrible at the time almost always makes sense later on!

Another song comes to mind, "Regrets, I have a few, but then again to few to mention." A person could get lost in the "wish I, should I, could I" world. Life is too short for that kind of thinking.
The way you started your entry, I got the impression you were going to tell us about a decision or a jump you're about to make. Am I wrong??

Mulling over regrets is like sitting in a rocking chair, it's something to do but it does not get you anywhere,

Regrets, I've had a few,
but then again, too few to mention.

~ Paul Anka, for Frank Sinatra, "My Way."
Regrets are usually related to things which you cannot change now that they are done. So, you need to live as creatively as possible, whatever your decision.
Pourqois pas? Exactement.

Here's to looking ahead! :)

There are always times when we wonder, "what in the world was I thinking?" but often it leads us to a better place.
That's just what I believe.

Ksam
Your experience perfectly sums up my philosophy! I'm so happy that everything has worked out so well for you. You deserve it!

Life is too short for that kind of thinking, you're right!
No big decisions or changes, just contemplating things.
