about

Chez Loulou began in January 2006 as a way to give others a glimpse of our life in a beautiful corner of France, the Languedoc-Roussillon, where we lived for almost 8 years. In December 2011 we started a new French adventure and moved north to the Calvados department in lower Normandy.
This blog includes stories about the delicious regional food and wine from around France, European travel insights and experiences, recipes of my favorite sweet and savory dishes, photos of the stunning scenery and charming vignettes I capture through my camera lens, stories of life in France and the ever-present challenge of French bureaucracy.

It also includes cheese. Lots of cheese! In April of 2007 I started a project to taste each and every French cheese available in France. Some say there are around 600 while others say there are over 1000. I have my work cut out for me.
Here is what I've tasted thus far:  French Cheese List
