Photo du Jour - Bibimbap

Bibimbap

I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes I crave things other than French cheese, French bread, French pastries and French charcuterie. So whenever I can, I seek out little places to satisfy my hankering for tacos, dumplings, ramen, sushi, phở, curry and now, bibimbap. I've only had it a few times, but I'm hooked!

Taken at Jules et Shim, a teeny-tiny place near the Canal Saint-Martin.

I love bibimbap! But you need to come to NYC for some truly original variations! It's the best when eaten from a red hot stone bowl. Mmmmm.

It is crazy! But this looks right up my street...If i get bored of French delicacies when we holiday in June, I'll be sure to look this place up! :)

Tacos? Have you found any in France? I have had to resort to people bringing and sending ingredients -- masa, chiles, etc. The things they sell here as mexican food in the market bears very little resemblance as you surely know.

I love to change flavours occasionally despite loving French cooking. Take care and have a good week. Diane

The first time I ever had it, it was in a blistering hot stone bowl. I loved it!
But I would love to come to NY and check out those variations too. :)

Mandy
If you do, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I've only found tacos in Paris, so if I'm craving Mexican food, I cook it myself.

Diane
It is nice to mix it up a bit. :) I hope you have a good week too.

Next time you're passing Versailles, stop in and try Kung Jon. You'll love it. Authentic and so, so good. Served in a piping hot bowl. :)
