My 7 Links

Cognac Trip

I recently had the chance to take a little trip down memory lane when I was tagged for a meme called My 7 Links by Ashley of Backyard Provence.

This particular meme was created when Katie at TripBase was looking back over her blog archives and realized that "not all blog posts are created equal."

So true...

Fromage

1) Most Beautiful
I've written a few posts about color after I was tagged for another meme a couple of years ago. After looking through all of them, I'm most attracted to the pale, simple beauty of la Couleur Blanche.

2) Most Popular
Notes to Self proved to be very popular and it is one of my favorites as well.

3) Most Controversial
That's easy! Why Are the French so Rude? turned into a bit of an expat spat between a few people. It was interesting to read the barbs being thrown back and forth because when I wrote the post I was referring to people visiting France, not to people who have relocated here. It obviously hit a nerve with some. Also this post got a lot of negative remarks on a certain French expat network (which I am not a member of) by people who simply read the title and thought I was being negative about the French. They didn't even bother to read the post!

4) Most Helpful
I just can't narrow it down to one post. The Moving to France Tutorial and Cost of Living in France series are tied for first place.

Shells with Smoked Salmon and Peas

5) Post Whose Success Surprised Me
A recipe that combines two of my favorite foods - cheese and pasta - got a lot of attention. And it isn't even French! Conchiglie al Salmone e Piselle

6) Post I Feel Didn't Get the Attention It Deserved
In order to help some readers find and enjoy more French cheese I wrote Five Fabulous French Fromages that are available in the States and/or online. It generated a bit of interest, but much less than I was expecting.

7) Post That I am Most Proud Of
I had the desire to make my own cheese for the longest time. After finally getting my hands on some unpasteurized goat's milk, I made my own fromage de chèvre. It was amazing! Here's the recipe: Homemade Chèvre.

I'm hoping these 5 bloggers will join in and share their 7 Links.
Actually, I've listed 6. Because rules were meant to be broken.

Lindsey of Lost in Cheeseland
Paola of In My Life
Corey of Tongue in Cheek
Katie of Thyme for Cooking
Kasia of Love in the City of Lights
Camille of Croque-Camille

I had the opportunity to do the My 7 Links project as well and I found it to be a lot of fun. As a newbie to the bloggersphere I found it helped me think about my audience more and try to appeal to what interests them while staying true to my passions as well. This can't always be done but I try in each post.
It also made me realize that many people don't always like to read long posts so recently I have shortened them up.
Thank you for the recipes!

Thanks for that! I got to see some posts I either missed or were before I started reading. Plus, I'll be heading to Kansas in a week and I know I can get non ultra pasteurized goat's milk. More chevre, yay!

Thanks for that ... I hadn't seen some of these!

Thanks for those links; I missed some of them earlier. Must try the homemade chevre, although am fortunate to have some that's quite good made locally.

I love the photograph of the cheese, but maybe that is because I love cheese!

Since I'm new to your blog, I never saw #6. Can't wait to try those cheeses, especially the Comte.
