Great tribute!have fun!
Fantastic photos, when were these taken? I thought that after Hurricane Katrina New Orleans was still in a pretty bad way. Diane
Looks lovely (laughing at the "open unless we have a hangover" sign, fantastic!) Have a great trip :)
Merci Nathalie! I love having the chance to go every year.DianeThe photos have all been taken since Katrina. I've been back every year since the storm and most of the city has either been rebuilt or is in the process of being restored. If you go as a tourist and stay in the French Quarter, CBD, Warehouse District or Garden District, you won't see many remnants of the hurricane.TuulaI love that sign! It is so "New Orleans". :)
It is indeed a different world from the PNW...your photos make me want to go back!
BettyVERY different! I hope you get the chance to visit again some day. It is such a unique, amazing city.
i love this! i ve always wanted to go; my brother went on a service trip and had an amazing time. My best friend just moved to Baton Rouge and I had a lovely time visiting her this summer. Next time we ll make the trip to New orleans!
"Pound for pound our cheapest book." Ha! When are you going back? I hope you get a chance to taste my friend Rhonda's desserts!
I heart NOLA!
Camellia beans are THE best for making authentic Louisiana red beans and rice. On my husband's first visit to NOLA he ordered a cup of coffee and the waitress asked, "light or dark?" He didn't understand the question and thought she was asking if he wanted milk in his coffee, so he said "dark." Boy was he surprised when he got a cup of dark, thick chicory coffee. He since has come to love dark coffee.Sam
BrennaYou"ll definitely have to go the next time you visit your friend in Baton Rouge. You"ll love it!Camille I'm here now!Your friend works for Donald Link? Or John Besh?
