Photo du Jour - les Artichauts


Locally grown, plump artichauts at the market yesterday. Steamed and dipped in melted butter...the flavor is rich and lush and spring! Pin It

Wow! I've never eaten an artichoke as fresh as those appear. I'm convinced that the artichokes in the supermarkets on the East Coast are at least a month old by the time they're prepared and eaten.

ARGH!!! That's torture! Artichokes are my favourite vegetable and we can't get them here - not even frozen or in jars

I remember them in the States as being smaller and not as plump. Still delicious though!
