La Journée Nationale du Fromage

Today is la Journée National du Fromage.

I expected a grand tasting event at les Halles in Narbonne, maybe a little parade or perhaps even a young woman crowned la Reine du Fromage. (hey, why not?)
Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that the closest fromager celebrating the event is in Toulouse, an hour and a half away!
Nothing in Narbonne, Béziers, Perpignan or even Montpellier!

So, we're celebrating on our own.

What did you do to fête le fromage? Pin It

sorry to say, but we are not celebrating here...but I am making your wonderful roquefort, onion tart tomorrow for some friends (does that count?)

alisa,
I think the cheese celebrations should last all week!
Enjoy the tart - it counts. :)

Yeah Benji! That husband of yours is definitely a keeper.
I hope you picked up some good fromage in Narbonne!

Hi Loulou,

I posted my entry about le fete du fromage last night. We tried two new goat's milk cheeses: a mold-ripened triple cream, and a Cheddar. They are both artisan American cheeses; they were the ones that called out to me! Thanks for the invite to participate.

danielle,
I love that they're making more cheese like that in America. It is so promising!
You wrote a wonderful cheese post. Thanks for the mention!
